G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital has served Quesnel and the surrounding North Cariboo for generations — a community built on the Quesnel and Fraser rivers, shaped by the Cariboo Gold Rush and sustained by forestry and mining. Community oncology is delivered here, close to the people who need it. Chemotherapy and ongoing monitoring may be provided locally, meaning many people in the North Cariboo can receive treatment without leaving Quesnel.
For services not available locally — including radiation therapy and certain specialist consultations — patients are referred to BC Cancer – Prince George, approximately 120 km north on Highway 97. Your care team coordinates that transition.

Opened in November 2012, BC Cancer – Prince George was the first site in northern BC to offer radiation therapy. It provides radiation, chemotherapy, counselling, and nutrition services, with two linear accelerators on site. The centre sits on Lheidli T'enneh traditional territory, adjacent to the University Hospital of Northern BC.
