Opened in November 2012 as the first site in northern BC to offer radiation therapy, the Centre for the North provides radiation, chemotherapy, counselling, and nutrition services — with two linear accelerators on site. It sits on Lheidli T'enneh traditional territory, adjacent to University Hospital of Northern BC.
Many people travel significant distances from across the north for radiation and specialist oncology appointments here, while chemotherapy is often delivered closer to home through community hospitals.
